Essential Oils and Your Pets
The growing interest in Alternative Health for ourselves and loved ones is spilling over to include the furry babies in our families, our dogs and cats. Some veterinarians are getting into alternative care because of the growing demand.
One method of alternative care you may not be aware of is the use of essential oils on your pet. Essential oils can be used on animals just as they would on humans.
Our pets have fragile senses, so oils can be diluted until tolerance is established. There are some oils you can keep on hand as an essential oil emergency kit for your pet. Here are a few to consider:
Peace & Calming, Valor, & Lavender for stress, fear, and nervous anxiety. Domestic animals respond very quickly to the smell.
Eucalyptus and Peppermint are great insect repellents. Eucalyptus can also ease sinus problems.
Cinnamon and Peppermint removes ticks.
Purification is useful for external parasites such as fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
Lemongrass & Lavender can be used for torn or sprained ligaments/tendons.
Thieves is perfect for minor skin issues and is also used for dental concerns.
Raven & R.C. are ideal for respiratory and urinary tract support.
There are many more. If you have questions about the use of essential oils for your pet, give us a call at 404-257-0188. | |
